— Hip-Hop Teacher
Dancer and choreographer Kevin Belisario's interest in dance came at the age of seven when he began imitating and memorizing routines performed by Michael Jackson and boyband *NSYNC. This exposure led to his technical training in hip hop, when at his first class, he quickly grabbed the attention of his instructor, Erik Saradpon.
He was then invited to join Erik's professional dance team, Formality. Despite the dramatic age difference between then eight-year-old Kevin and the rest of the high school and college-aged dancers on Formality, he was still held to the same standards as the rest of the team. The high demands of his director, environment and late-night rehearsals helped him understand work ethic and perseverance. After Formality, Kevin has gone on to dance for Future Shock San Diego, Super Galactic Beat Manipulators and NSU Modern.
He has also continued to explore other areas of dance such as modern, jazz, ballet and tap, and has worked with choreographers such as Christopher Huggins, Donald McKayle, SuperDave and Wade Robson. Kevin graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he majored in World Arts & Cultures/Dance and with a minor in education.
Kevin has been teaching at Pacific Arts Dance Center & Arts Dance Center, Shreveport going on his 3rdseason. He has set much choreography at both locations and is a beloved PADC/ADC favorite!
Kevin is looking to take dance to new heights in both performing and teaching, and he is looking forward to setting choreography on PADC dancers for next year’s competition and performance groups!
